3 The Empress III

Meaning: love, abundance, motherhood, fertility, pregnancy, feminine energy, divine feminine, goddess archetype, nurturing, birth, maturity, beauty, true love, supportive women, unsupportive women, immaturity, unwanted pregnancy, unripe situations or ideas, parenting, overbearing

The Empress (III) in its light aspect, is very warm. It’s the rainy Sundays spent at home with the family drinking hot chocolate or eating freshly baked cookies while watching a movie or playing board games. The Empress is akin to the feeling you get when you’re wrapped in a thick fuzzy blanket on a chilly winter’s day or when a cute child rests their head and little hands on your chest and falls asleep. If a person brings up these feelings for us, we call it something like love or admiration. There is something so comforting about Empress energy no matter how it shows up in a reading. It’s a card of angelic and Divine support that will surely bring a smile to your face, especially during a particularly tough day. She is The High Priestess with child.

“There is no force equal to a woman determined to rise.” – W.E.B. Bois

“The true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul.” -Audrey Hepburn

This card could represent yo momma (I had to), an important female figure you have reverence for, it could represent you and your energy, or it could represent motherhood and a baby on the way. It doesn’t have to be a literal baby either, it could be something beautiful is brewing underneath the surface and will be revealed to you in a matter of time. This could also be a card, for the men specifically, representing their mothers, grandmothers, nurturing women in their lives, or their dream woman/future wife/future spouse. If this card comes up for a man, he should take a moment to get in tune with his romantic feelings, be honest about them, shed light on them or reflect on his relationship with key feminine figures in his life. Again, it all depends on the context of the reading. What I write here I hope simply serves as a guide.

ex: The Empress + The Lovers = a good match, great potential for successful marriage/life partnership, soul mate, twin flame, attractive woman, confident woman, romantic connection, emotionally intelligent woman, nurturing woman, true love.

The dark / shadow aspect of the Empress essentially means the opposite of its counterpart. This is someone who is not ready for motherhood, unripe or immature, gossipy, bad-mouthing other women unconsciously, unfit to be a wife, not good for you… this could also be a card of insecurity for the ladies out there reading for themselves. For the masculine/men reading for themselves, this card coming up may be a message for you to be more open to the feminine energies within yourself or that you may be exhibiting “toxic” masculine traits. Again, you know what this card means for you in a reading, so go with that.

ex: The Empress + Death = fear of losing parent/spouse causing you to shut down or feel instability, a recent loss of key feminine figure in your life affecting you more than you think, positive transformation of a relationship with a feminine figure, especially one’s wife, girlfriend, mother, grandmother or aunt.

Note: Although a part of life, death is a touchy topic for many. This is why I don’t ever “predict” upcoming death unless it is super clear and I feel that God is sending me a clear message to do so for reasons greater than what I can currently comprehend. I find too that when Death has anything to do with physical death in a reading, it has a lot more to do with fear of it somehow than anything else. So, rest your fears regarding any of these “scary” cards or concepts. The Universe has your back🦋
